UNEP co-operate with NGO ProRuralInvest with respect to the implementation of the EU, OECD, UNECE, UNEP, and UNIDO’s partnership programme ‘Greening Economies in the Eastern Neighbourhood’ (hereinafter EaP GREEN) in the Republic of Moldova (April 21 – November  30 2015).
Project objective. Under the EaP GREEN programme, which is financed by the European Commission, UNEP is leading the implementation of the activity component ‘3.3. Promoting Organic Agriculture (OA)’. The objective of the component is to provide support for the Eastern Neighbourhood countries to increase their production and trade of organic agricultural products by building the capacity of the private sector (farms and companies) to access growing international and European markets for organic products.
  • Providing training and support to selected farmers/producers willing to convert from conventional to organic agriculture;
  • Preparation and organisation a one week awareness raising event in Chisinau to present and exhibit organic products to the public and government authorities:
  • Organisation a one week exhibition of organic products in Chisinau and identify and invite organic farmers/producers to attend and exhibit products at this fair
  • Preparation information material and raise awareness on the value and (health) benefits of organic products
  • Contacting and invitation local media (television, radio, newspaper) in Moldova to organize media coverage of the event;
  • Preparation and develop an educational toolkit for a targeted group and coordinate with educational institutions to hold a thematic week dedicated to organic farming and sustainable consumtion and production, synchronized with the exhibition week for organic products in Chisinau .
